Since I took a break from SOC, I started working on its followup story. Mostly for myself and cause I just had to get the ideas down somewhere as a "just in case".

Oh how I do so adore names! Quite the variety you've invented. The ones which jump out the most to me are Oph'la(reminds me of Ophelia, though by her arrest record it seems she is a much stronger character then the delicate Shakespearian women), Mira(is this my or mirr(or)?, Jori(reminds me of Geordi), Bylee(sounds like a name I would have come up with though I would have spelled it a, in truth, more confusing way lol), and Rou'tre(which also sounds like one I might create)
Oph'la was my way of spelling Ophelia. I had a friend named Ophelia and I dislike Shakespeare intently. Mira is pronounced (MEE-RAH). Bylee is pronounced (BYE-lee), and Rou'tre is pronounced (R-OW-TRA). And Oph'la is a much stronger character that the weaklings WS portrayed.
Oph'la is this universes equivalent of Ophelia. And I never use character streotype such as those set by WS (can't stand him, horrible plots and characters).
Pronunciation:
Mira (MEE-RAH)
Bylee (BUY-LEE)
Rou'tre (ROW'TRA)
Tesqui-Wiit (TES-Kwee-White)
Sarline'batra (SAR-LEAN-BAW-TRAW)
Oph'la (OH-Feel-Ah)
Malton Alhai (MALL-TON ALL-HIGH)
Walrot (WALL-ROT)
Jeksonn Alhai (JECK-SON ALL-HIGH)
Griff Wahl (GRIFF WALL)
Tamara Lamnar (TAH-MAR-UH LAMB-NAHR)
Rhys (REESE)
Tixe (TIE-SHEE)
ah, see i find your spelling annoying with some of those pronunciations since they aren't consistent with each other. Such as when you spell the hard "I" sound as ai, ii and i. You can do this if your universe is hugely diverse of course, just like in the real world, but don't be too nit-picky on the pronunciation because many people wont listen. I find this annoying too, my names in stories are really different(Zadear, Getten,Xzara for example) and most people mispronounce them, and I tend to keep pretty consistent with spelling, and the readers just ignore it all anyway and pronounce it how they want. I really dislike how diverse the English language is in it's spelling, though it's easily understood through it's evolution it's still annoying.
Excellent point. Keep in mind, though, that this is how I pronounce them. I'm entirely indifferent on how other people pronounce them.
What about them isn't consistent? If I had to try and pronounce your character's names, I might say Zadear as Zjha-DEAR, Getten as Ghet-ton, and Xzara as Shzarr-ah. I may be wrong, but that is your point. People will pronounce them the way that makes sense. I know a person who pronounces Mara as MARE-A (hard A at the end).
